BROOKLYN'S DUMBO NEIGHBORHOOD BECOMING THE HOME FOR NEW YORK'S DIGITAL COMMUNITY

MIAMI AD SCHOOL'S NEW YORK HOME IS NOW THE "DIGITAL DISTRICT"

Visitors to this site know that Miami Ad School is establishing a new Base School location in New York. We chose DUMBO for--among other things--its status as an emerging center of digital media. AgencySpy, one of our favorite online news sources, covered the Digital Dumbo event last night:

"Tonight at an event called Digital Dumbo, members of New York's digital advertising/communications community will attend the one year anniversary of the monthly get together. There, Carrot Creative's Mike Germano, Brooklyn Foundry's Brian Lemond and Drop.io's Sam Lessin will announce that the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn is officially New York's digital district. And there's nothing you can do about it."

Like the financial, theater, fashion, garment and other "districts" of New York, Germano says the Digital Dumbo crowd are eager to put a flag in the ground. Despite being in Brooklyn, they contend that companies hoping to make a go at digital communications are most likely to succeed in the DUMBO neighborhood.

    Thank you so much for your interest in the Boot Camp for Account Planners, which is indeed coming to our New York location. We are concluding the process of licensing with the State of New York, at which point we'll be free to schedule a Boot Camp at the new DUMBO location. It will be posted to this blog when we have a firm date.
